A gum abscess is an infection that is located between the tooth root and the gingiva tissue. You can see a gum boil in your mouth at the gum line point or deep in the periodontal pockets created by the bacteria. The boil is filled with pus and it cause a lot of pain because of the inner pressure. As soon as the dentist will drain the abscess, the relief is immediate but the therapy require additional medication and, in some cases, antibiotics.
